Joe Biden, Former US Vice President, has chosen his running mate. Democratic California Senator, Kamala Harris, will be running as the Vice President nominee side by side by Biden (Democratic Presidential nominee).
Harris will be the first African American descent woman and Indian descent woman to serve as the Democratic VP nominee. Harris is also the first candidate from the west to be nominated to run in this position (President & Vice President).
Sen. Kamala Harris is going to be a partner that’s going to be a force to be reckoned with for this upcoming election in November. Since the coronavirus is still heavily affecting the US, we’ve placed brief summary of her stance on all aspects related to the virus:
1.) “Masks for All Act”
Provide Free Masks for all
2.) Proposed the “COVID-19 Racial and Ethnic Disparities Task Force Act”
A team of health and policy experts, established under the US Dept of Health and Human Services, will make recommendations and how to best distribute COVID-19 resources to FEMA and Congress. The purpose of this is to help address the racial disparities related to the pandemic.
3.) “Monthly Economic Crisis Support Act” which was introduced by Sen Harris, Sanders, Markey, to give most Americans $2000 per month during the pandemic. This legislation would provide $2000 per person that make up to $120,000 per year throughout the pandemic and up to 3 months after. Married couple who file together, will receive $4000, and they will get $2000 per child for up to 3 children.
4.) “Rent Emergencies Leave Impacts on Evicted Families Act”
Ban evictions and foreclosures for a year and provide 18 months to make missed payments. This legislation would also not allow rent increases, rid of penalties and late fees, and prevent the report of missed payments to credit companies.
Have Medicaid programs to pay for hospitalization, drugs and vaccines Covid patients who are uninsured.
