Two teachers from Albany, GA have allowed their creative juices to flow with their own back to school flow using the instrumental from Jack Harlow’s popular Billboard charting song, “What’s Popping?”.
It’s back to school for our children, and most of them will be going back virtually. For teachers Callie Evans and Audri Williams (Ms Evans & Ms Williams), from Monroe Comprehensive High School, that means connecting with the students through hip hop and current dances. When the two teachers received messages from students who said they couldn’t complete their work because they had COVID-19, or one of their parents passed away, they looked to inspire and uplift their community of Albany that was hit hard by the virus.
The teachers got together with the help school’s cheerleaders and their Tik Tok dances, developed this original video concept together and “changed the lyrics to encourage our students to get excited about the school year and virtual learning.” - Lakisha Bruce, the school district’s director of community relations.
